Take and Read Publications is all about creating resources that take the striving out of homeschooling.

Do you recall the story of St. Augustine? One day in the garden, his head bowed in anguish over his sin and shame, he heard children chanting over the garden wall:

“Take and read, take and read!”

Knowing God was speaking to him, he picked up his Bible to “take and read,” and in that very moment, as he read, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ,” he received the salvation in Christ that he longed for. To be a Christian is to put on Christ and let Christ in us be the Hope of Glory. As Augustine was set free from years of endless striving and received Christ in that moment, God desires the same freedom in Christ for each one of us.

What does this look like for you and for me in our homeschooling? That is what Take and Read Publications aims to find out. Through the publication of free copywork resources, a reflections blog, and easy readers for children, Take and Read wants to explore the depth of what homeschooling in Christ can be.

Take and Read Publications is all about creating resources that take the striving out of homeschooling. Just as Augustine was encouraged to “take and read, take and read,” we want to put books into the hands of children that they can take and read. And we hope these become words of delight that encourage children in their knowledge of Jesus Christ our Savior.
